Opportunity: Leos develop positive traits and receive recognition for their contributions
The LEO club’s impact can be seen and felt throughout the community through building connections with a multitude of organizations, connecting students with both their school and their community, and strengthening not only student self-worth, but also their interpersonal relationships.
There are three primary activities for the club. First, Leos work in a variety of activities to earn club funds and then vote on how to use these monies to support a variety of different causes. Secondly, they participate in different activities to support these causes, and thirdly, they participate in physical service. In the last two years, the FHS Leos have additionally initiated service projects, prepared & delivered workshops, and been interviewed by both radio and TV.
In the last 6 years, the club has involved approximately 200 students, raised over $7000, donated all of it and cumulatively performed over 6,000 hours of service.
