Weekly Update

May 14, 2021

Welcome Back:

We are so excited to welcome back additional staff and students to campus. The campus is slowly coming alive with simple little things as the pledge and morning announcements and lunchtime music jams. We appreciate the continued efforts of our FHS Rocket community that work diligently to provide the safest environment possible.

NAMI Suicide Prevention Walk:

May is Mental Health month. After over a year of isolation and with mental wellness being a major concern for our global community, FHS students showed their support by walking a mile on May 5th to raise awareness.

More Site Enhancements:

Construction upgrades to our site continue! New landscape enhancements are ready to begin along with repaving of the alley area.

Frontline ROCKET Warrior:

It just couldn’t be a more wonderful time to acknowledge and celebrate our fearless nurse, Chris Davis on National Nurses Day on May 6th. We are so grateful for all her contributions and dedication in providing a safe campus environment for all of us. Thank you and high five to our very own Frontline “ROCK”ET Warrior!

PBIS Update:

PBIS has been examining the results of our Youth Truth Survey along with gathering information with our students at the Superintendent’s Council. Special shoutouts to those students who have attended! We are also feeling “Extra” special with our little treat in our mailboxes celebrating our Staffulty!

Guest Speakers talk with YCC:

This quarter Youth Culture and Climate has benefitted from hearing from a number of guest speakers on different topics. We have had Stacy Brown from MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), Deputy Sheriff Manny Perez on Distracted Driving, Kirsti Thompson from Give an Hour (Mental Wellness), and our weekly visits from BRITE. And there are more to come! We are so appreciative for their time, effort and information!

Gardening Fun:

FHS Students and Staff along with Anna and her Farm to School squad, enjoyed some gardening fun in our new planter boxes. During lunch, many joined into plant herbs, tomatoes, peppers, flowers and more! Thank you for providing such an uplifting activity and new growth for our Rocket community.
