CAMPUS NEWS:

The Final FRONTIER team #7887 has returned from the Houston Robotics Championships walking away with the 2019 Highest Rookie Seeded award for the Carver-Newton Division. Over the course of three days, the team was able to complete their qualifying matches holding on to the number 10 spot which landed them in the semi-finals as captains. Although both semi-final matches did not land us a win to the next round, the team was recognized by other alliances as being a strong contender.

This competition had over 400 teams competing from 5 different countries and 12 different states. Our team is the FIRST school in Ventura County to bring home ANY kind of award from the World Championships. This team made Ventura County history!

Thank you Final Frontier for your perseverance, responsibility, integrity, dignity, and empowerment – your PRIDE. Congratulations to the team and Mrs. Christa Reyes-Gonzales for ALL your hard work and efforts!

On Thursday, in honor of Volunteer Appreciation Month, we had a community service fair at lunch. Thirteen different clubs and organizations were invited to be on hand with information on how students can be involved. “Passports” were handed out at the Leo table and students were encouraged to get a sticker from each organization. The passports were then entered into a drawing. Thank you to all who participated – organizers, presenters, and attendees.
