On Thursday, March 14th, Martin Alberto Gonzalez, author of 21 Miles of Scenic Beauty…and then Oxnard, presented his book to Mr. Hamilton’s English classes.  Mr. Gonzalez read several chapters from the book, which was inspired by his experiences growing up in Oxnard.  He graduated from Oxnard High School, attended Cal State Northridge for his undergraduate degree, and is currently completing his doctorate at Syracuse University.  Students engaged him in conversations regarding the themes presented and really enjoyed meeting a local writer.  He encouraged students to follow him on Instagram @martymoose or via email at vivaoxnard@gmail.com.
