A group of FHS students participated in a tour of Oxnard College and their outstanding Culinary Arts Program. The exciting tour was led by the enthusiastic Chef Hart . He provided students with information regarding the program, courses, and the possibility of careers in the field. Additionally, students had the opportunity to visit the EOPS where the ever-inspiring Ms. Gloria Lopez welcomed them and gave them an introduction about opportunities within the program.
The Leos had another busy week. While some of us were at the Underwood Farms pumpkin patch for the final Saturday, Ana, Luis and Rigo participated in the StraightUP Reality Party in Oxnard. This activity uses student actors in different party scenes to provide parents with an insider’s view of what could go wrong. This event was performed in Spanish. Ana and Rigo then spent 8 hours on Sunday for the last day of the pumpkin patch.
Finally, for our last day of October, the Leos delivered 84 bags of Halloween goodies that they prepared for each of the ARC participants. To date, after only 2 months of school, the FHS Leos have put in over 300 hours of service!
